Welcome to Silver Star Goods! I'm Nancy and I make plant-based, dairy-free deliciousness with mostly organic & local Northern Michigan ingredients from my garden and area farms. EVERYTHING is vegan friendly and free of dairy, egg, peanut, and soy. Not-Too-Sweet Quick Breads and TC Cherry Maple Granola are oil-free using unsweetened applesauce as a healthy alternative. Wheat-free & lots of gluten-free options are also available.
I started this business in 2018 selling granola and home-grown herbed sea salt at the local farmers markets. We helped our neighbors on Old Mission Peninsula collect sap during maple syrup season and it made the best sweetener for my healthy granola recipe with local tart Montmorency cherries because Traverse City is known as the Cherry Capital. Sitting on the 45th parallel, we’re a prime fruit growing region also known for wine.
Customers asked for more plant-based allergy friendly offerings. Not-Too-Sweet quick bread in classic and seasonal flavors with peaches from our mini-orchard, rhubarb, blueberries, strawberries, apples, asparagus, and parsnips. Roses, lavender, lilacs, and violets from my garden give vegan shortbread cookies that extra something special. In fall/winter I make dairy-free chocolates like spicy garden chili bark and coffee bean bark with locally roasted coffee beans. Looking for gluten-free options? I've got you covered! Almond butter brownies made with local maple syrup, quick bread mini loaves, cookies, chocolate pretzels, and more.
